Compliance and Implementation

No Cost Implementation to Employees

Employers are responsible for implementing all aspects of the heat stress prevention plan at no cost to employees. This includes providing necessary equipment, training, and resources to ensure a safe working environment. Key points of no-cost implementation include:

  • Provision of Resources: Employers must supply all necessary cooling PPE, such as cooling vests, towels, and headgear, free of charge. Additionally, they must provide access to potable drinking water, shaded or air-conditioned rest areas, and any other resources required for heat stress prevention.
  • Training: All training sessions on heat stress hazards, preventive measures, and emergency procedures must be provided at no cost to employees. This includes initial training, annual refresher training, and any supplemental training required due to changes in procedures or regulations.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Employers must cover the costs of monitoring heat conditions, maintaining cooling equipment, and ensuring that all preventive measures are in place and functioning correctly.
