Auto Repair Shop Safety

Image of auto mechanic

Workers in auto repair shops are potentially exposed to a variety of chemical and physical hazards. Chemical hazards may include volatile organics from paints, fillers and solvents; diisocyanates, polyisocyanates, and hexavalent chromium from spray painting operations; silica from sandblasting operations; dusts from sanding; and metal fumes from welding and cutting. Physical hazards include repetitive stress and other ergonomic injuries, noise, lifts, drills, cutting tools, compressors, and oil and grease on walking surfaces.

1.9 out of every 100 full-time workers in the automotive repair and maintenance industry were injured in 2021. There is a clear need for employees working in auto repair shops to receive safety training to help ensure they can safely perform their work duties.

OSHAcademy is dedicated to help ensure the safety of the workers at your autobody shop. Our courses/programs address the unique risks associated with auto mechanic safety. The training is designed to equip auto shop workers with the necessary knowledge to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
