This course is intended to help businesses comply with OSHA's standard 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC, Cranes & Derricks in Construction. It is the first of two courses. It is designed to address the most common compliance issues that employers will face and to provide sufficient detail to serve as a useful compliance course.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

TO 1.0 Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the final course assessment.
LO 1.1.1 Identify the various types of mobile, tower, and articulating cranes.
LO 1.2.1 Describe controlling employer, contractor, competent person, and crane operator responsibilities.
LO 1.3.1 Describe safety requirements and responsibilities of workers for the safe assembly/disassembly of cranes.
LO 1.4.1 Describe safe work practices when working around high power lines.
LO 1.5.1 Describe the requirements and procedures associated with crane inspections.
LO 1.6.1 Identify wire rope inspection and selection requirements.
LO 1.6.2 List required safety devices and operational aids required on crane equipment.
