N.O.M.E.S. Corp. Japan provides construction, maintenance, site consulting, engineering support, fuels maintenance, and EHS support services for contractors working on federal contracts in Japan. With approximately 50 employees, N.O.M.E.S. Corp. Japan understands the importance of maintaining strong safety practices across overseas job sites with strict safety expectations.

For Michael Davies, Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) at N.O.M.E.S. Corp. Japan, safety leadership plays an important role in helping employees stay prepared, informed, and accountable. Working on U.S. military projects requires consistent attention to safety procedures, documentation, and training requirements.

Employees are involved in the safety program through regular job-site communication. Project managers provide tailgate talks on every job site and document key safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space work, and lift plan requests.

OSHAcademy helps N.O.M.E.S. Corp. Japan meet mandatory safety training requirements for overseas companies working with the U.S. military. Employees are completing the 40-hour EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Hazard Awareness for Contractors (2024 Edition) and the 30-hour Construction Safety and Health Program to support the company’s safety goals.

By providing accessible safety training, OSHAcademy supports the company’s efforts to maintain compliance and strengthen safety awareness across its worksites.
