Fall Protection and Prevention Plan
- The plan must be formulated by a Competent Person (CP) or Qualified Person (QP), detailing the work activity, anticipated hazards, control measures, design of fall protection systems, and equipment used.
- Assign specific roles and responsibilities to personnel, ensuring their qualifications and training are documented as per the regulations.
- Include methods for inspection, oversight, maintenance, and storage of fall protection equipment to ensure compliance with the plan.
- The plan must be developed by a CP or QP and updated as conditions change, but at least annually.
Rescue Plan
- Developed by a Competent Rescuer, the plan must outline methods for self-rescue and assisted rescue, including the use of rescue equipment and the involvement of local emergency services or in-house professionals if needed.
- Identify and document the anchorages for self-rescue and assisted rescue, ensuring they meet the required load-bearing standards as designed by a QP.
- Ensure that rescue equipment complies with ANSI/ASSP standards and assign safety spotters to facilitate immediate rescue efforts.
Fall Protection Program (USACE Only)
- Require each facility to develop a Site-Specific Fall Protection and Prevention Plan and a Rescue Plan, as detailed in the respective sections above.
