About OSHAcademy
Who We Are
Beginnings
OSHAcademy was founded in 1999 by Steven Geigle, MA, CSHM, Maj (USAF-Ret), a former Air Force safety officer, Oregon OSHA training specialist, and private-sector safety training manager.
During his 16 years with Oregon OSHA, Steve developed and led the agency’s nationally recognized online safety training program. That work shaped the idea that became OSHAcademy: high-quality safety training should not depend on a person’s location or budget. OSHAcademy remains true to that vision and continues to be family-led. Steve’s children, Christopher, Barry, and Jennifer, have joined the organization, bringing expertise in occupational safety, education, and technology.
OSHAcademy now offers free access to more than 200 online safety training courses and 40 training programs for companies, government agencies, universities, and individual students. We also work with a network of more than 90 Authorized Training Providers (ATPs) that deliver instructor-led training around the world.
