Authorized Entrant Duties

The entry employer must ensure all authorized entrants:

  • Are trained to be familiar with and understand the hazards that may be faced during entry. Training must include information on the mode, signs or symptoms, and consequences of the exposure.
  • Properly use equipment during confined space entry.
  • Communicate with the attendant to enable the attendant to adequately assess entrant status and to enable the attendant to alert entrants of the need to evacuate the space if required.
