Information about the hazards of classified chemicals are transmitted using four strategies.
- the hazards of all chemicals produced or imported are classified, and
- information about the classified hazards is transmitted to employers and employees.
Classifying and communicating information about chemical hazards and the appropriate use of protective measures include the following:
- Developing and maintaining a written hazard communication program
- Labeling and other forms of warning
- Preparing and distributing SDSs to employees
- Developing and implementing information and training programs
